DEPT. 3 — BAKERY & PANTRY CEIL BEE SCHOLARSHIP
Note: Ceil Bee retired in 2006 after being one of the Fair’s strongest supporters and chair of many committees and projects over the years. This scholarship in her honor is a tribute to her dedicated commitment and service to the Bakery & Pantry Department.
APPLICATION and GUIDELINES
Applicant must be a graduating senior who will be attending an institution of higher education for a two or four year program.
Preference will be given to dietary, nutrition, or culinary fields of interest and education majors specializing in the above areas of study or home economics.
Applicant must have been a member of a Clermont County 4-H Club, FFA, American Heritage Girls or Scouts for four (4) years, participate in the current year’s fair, and be a resident of Clermont County.
This is a reimbursement type of scholarship. The winner of the scholarship must submit proof of attendance at an institution of higher learning with their grades showing a 2.5 average for the first period/semester before receiving their money. He/she must also earn a minimum of 6 credit hours to be eligible. Scholarship must be claimed within one year of receiving certificate.
In the event of a tie or a large number of applicants, a personal interview may be required.
The Evaluation Committee will be comprised of at least one 4-H or FFA Representative, one Fair Board Director, and one member of the Dept. 3 Staff.
Applications must be submitted by June 1.
Attach your high school transcript and two (2) letters of recommendation from teachers and/or guidance counselor. In addition, attach a letter of recommendation from your 4-H, FFA, American Heritage Girl Leader or Scout Leader.
Consideration will be given for extra curricular activities and community involvement.
The winner will be announced at Tuesday’s Cake Auction and/or Thursday’s Pie Auction and will be presented a certificate at that time. The scholarship to be awarded is a one time amount of $500 and is nonrenewable. The money will be awarded after meeting the criteria outlined in #4.
At the discretion of the Evaluating Committee, the scholarship may not be awarded each year.
